about
Good Passover to all of you.
This song has been in the works for a good while. Initially, I proposed this song as a collaboration between many different vocalists and musicians. Ultimately every single one of the people I asked to work or sing on it turned me down.
Perhaps it was because I asked them to play or sing whatever they wanted with one caveat... it had to be about the ideal Father. And what I mean by that is this,.. I wanted the song to be about God the Father, because I know that God is a Father, and that He is the most perfect Father.
Since there are a great many people that hate the idea of an All-Powerful, All-Knowing, All-present, Unchanging "Sky Daddy," I presume the idea of singing about one left the proverbial bad taste in their mouths. Other open-minded people were otherwise too busy with other projects to contribute, I'm sure.
Anyway, I then proposed the song to one Day Body (@day-bodine). And, Day is an all-out genius and a super humble dude. I have known him ever since I've been on this platform. Now, we never had any deep convos about faith and what life really means to each other, but when I proposed this idea he unabashedly tackled the project with sheer grace and a masterful panache that boggles my mind. The lyrics seem to spark the collective consciousness of the ancients. They evoke the timeless history of our Spiritual patriarch, Abraham...
Well, at least that is how I choose to hear the lyrics, and you are all free to do with them as you wish. My only desire is that as you listen, please, reflect on the subject matter of a perfectly loving father who spared the life of His perfect Son, so that you may inherit perfection for yourself for all eternity, but only if you truly desire it.
Shalom, Shalom. And Good Passover to you all!
lyrics
Many years ago there traveled a man
for a family to a life giving land
He was raw and willing
Made from his heart
valuable tiding that earned us our start
Fast forward today, I thankfully stand
in awe, devoted to good father's plan
Let me follow, aspire to climb
and pass the wisdom to my next in line
Young seed, reach out to your sun
Family legacy strong
Vow to carry on
Until thy will is done
Faithfully your son
